The University Church of St.Mary, Oxford

This picture was taken this summer in Oxford and represents The University Church of St. Mary the Virgin, seen from Radcliffe Square.

The church holds a special place in the history of Oxford University, being the largest Oxford´s parish churches and the centre from which the university grew. The building was originally built in the 13th century and it has seen many historical events and sermons over the centuries - it was the site of the trial of the “Oxford Martyr's”.

For me, the most interesting part of the building is the tower and I must say that I was stunned by its beauty and by the views provided by it (Radcliffe Square, Brasenose College and All Souls College).
