US cultural region: The Midwest
- Early inmigrants to the Midwest came from different countries such as Germany, Swuitzerland and Scandinavian countries. Minority populations are less of the 0,5 per cent of the total population.
- The Midwest is known as the nation's "breadbasket". Corn is the dominant crop.
- Much of the Midwest has been classified as part of "America's Manufacturing Belt". Apparel, steel and food industries have an important place in the national industry.
